Philosophy Statement
Our professional team are strive to unleash the child’s potential of learning for achievement. We focus on promoting the holistic learning of the child.
We support children’s individual interests, extend their skills, and empower them to take ownership of their learning journey. At the core of our philosophical beliefs we endeavour to provide a nurture environment that promotes children’s desire to:
Explore, Learn and Love.
We believe a warm, nurturing and challenging environment will inspire children to love and respect; to discover and explore; and to grow and learn through fun and creativity. We know that the early years are incredibly important for the growth, learning and development of all young children. Child-centred learning is key to both cognitive and physical development, and it is with this knowledge that our qualified, passionate Kaiako work alongside children to support them in their learning journey.
Mightymind Kids Learning Programme
Our curriculum is based on the New Zealand Early Childhood Curriculum Te Whariki, where family and community, holistic development, empowerment and relationships are integrated into our programme planning and everyday practice. We offer rooms that are catered directly to our children’s age and stages, and which are designed to support our children to discover the world around them in safe and nurturing spaces.
We believe in the importance of having an environment that is a reflection of the children’s interests, is physically safe, provides creative and open ended experiences, offers opportunities to work alongside peers, and promotes a sense of wonder and choice. The environment is seen as the third teacher, and supports motivation, inspiration, exploration, investigation and belonging, as well as the social, emotional, physical and cognitive development of each child.

Our teachers are dedicated to form nurturing relationships with our children, while building respectful relationships with family/whanau that are based on open communication and trust. We work in close partnership with parents and whanau as we strongly believe we are on a collaborative journey together to care for, and educate your child(ren).
We have an open-door policy so that all families feel welcomed at any time, and can communicate with our teachers to ensure children excel and develop to their fullest potential. Every child and member of their whanau are welcomed, treated with respect, given equitable access to learning opportunities and have their culture, identity and language recognised and valued. We are committed to the unique bicultural heritage of Aotearoa, New Zealand and our founding document, Te Tiriti o Waitangi, the Treaty of Waitangi, and use this to guide our bicultural practice. Te Reo and Tikanga Maori is respected and woven throughout our daily rituals and learning experiences. We appreciate, treasure and celebrate different values and traditions within our diverse community, aiming to foster these and empower our children to be proud of their identity.
A journey to discover and learn!
